Friday was one of the most terrifying days in the history of Japan after an earthquake measuring 8.9 on richter scale struck Natori city in the northern part of the country. at least 40 people have been reported dead so far. Among the affected areas was a nuclear plant at Fukushima which was forced to shut down, but there were no reported leakages of radiation.
The last time an earthquake of almost the same magnitude was reported was in 1923 measuring about 7.9 which killed about 149,000 people, luckily this time there were only a few number of people losing their lives.
The tsunami center warned that more could occur and an order to evacuate people in Hawaii to move from the coastal areas was issued.
